As a kid, my dad made the following recipe regularly and we DEVOURED it.  As my kids get older, I LOVE having them help to figure out how we can recreate my family recipes into 
OUR allergy-friendly recipes.  

I can honestly say that as of today, this is currently our FAVORITE dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free dessert.  It doesn't last much longer than on hour.. if that!  

I have included our substitutions.

Get Your Supplies Together

Allergy~friendly chocolate chips, Shortening/Coconut oil

Melter, Molds and Foil Wrappers

Additional ideas:  

*Peppermint oil, **Peanut/Tree Nut Free 'peanut butter' alternative

Smart Allergy~Friendly Education - Basic Chocolate Candy Supplies

Melt 1 C of chocolate chips with 1 tsp of coconut oil/shortening.  

Add *oil during melting, if using. 

Pour into your favorite mold and freeze for 20 to 30 minutes.

Making 'Peanut Butter' Cups?

Fill 1/3 of mold with melted chocolate.  Freeze.  

Add **'peanut butter' alternative.  Freeze.

Top off mold with melted chocolate.

Wrap individually in foil wrappers. 

Handle as lightly as possible because your hand warmth will begin to melt them.

Having offered product suggestions for years, I thought it was time to review some of our family FAVs and review their ingredients lists.  Managing 6 of the top 8 allergens plus a few extra, we are thankful to have a few 'SAFE' items continually in our freezer.  Tyson chicken nuggets have been a family standby for years, and their ingredients haven't changed in years~ 

Throw in some of their favorite Kraft Barbeque Sauce, and the kids and their friends have lunch or dinner ready in NO time!  As I travel regularly, 'Dad' can always count on there being a bag handy to help making meals easier. 

We avoid milk, eggs, all nuts and fish and this product has been a lifesaver on days when I'm gone or don't have time to cook from scratch.

Sabra Hummus - An Awesome Snack Option for So Many Food Allergy Families

In an attempt to eat healthier at home and on the road, I have found hummus helps increase my vegetable intake tremendously! It is easily spooned into containers for me to pack into lunches or carry on the road while I travel.  They are kosher, pareve and glutenfree. You will also see there is no dairy, eggs or nuts in their ingredient list, always a bonus for our needs.  Those with a soy allergy may also be able to try this as it contains soybean oil NOT the soy protein itself.  Check this out with your doctor.

The stevia in the protein will add all the sweetness you need.  If on the road, do what you have to!   Always guaranteed to be dairy-free, egg-free, peanut-free and tree nut-free with the occasional coconut thrown in.  And it is once again, gluten-free !!

I haven't found a product which Tofutti Brand makes that my kids DON'T like.  Of all the different dairy-free cheese alternatives on the market, this brand is my kid's and MY favorite.  Even more telling is that fact that I am NOT dairy-free.  These slices are also parve, vegetarian, cholesterol-free, butterfat-free and gluten-free!  Another added bonus is that you will  find their ingredient list to be egg-free, peanut-free and tree nut-free, another plus for many.

Carrot Cake Smoothie Recipe - Dairy-free, Egg-free, Peanut-free, Tree Nut-free & Gluten-free

Here is the RECIPE for yet another 'Allergy-friendly Smoothie with Daniella'.  Always guaranteed to be dairy-free, egg-free, peanut-free and tree nut-free with the occasional coconut thrown in.  Usually gluten-free too!!

S.A.F.E. Allergy~friendly Carrot Cake Smoothie

Carrot Cake Smoothie

*Dairy free, Egg free, Peanut free, Tree-Nut Free and Gluten free

1 C Coconut Milk 
1 C Water
1 C Well cooked carrots
1/2 C vanilla protein (Arbonne)
1 Tsp nutmeg
1 T Honey
Crushed ice 


Add the liquids first.  Then add the cooked carrots.  Make sure they are soft so they blend well.  I didn't cook them enough on my first try, and I ended up with some chunks which didn't blend well.  Add the honey and nutmeg or whatever spices you may prefer.  Blend well.  Add crushed ice.  Blend again!!

This super easy to make allergy~friendly, dairy-free, egg-free, peanut-free, nut-free and gluten-free smoothie makes me think of one of my favorite childhood ice creams!

Dreamsicle Smoothie

*Dairy free, Egg free, Peanut free, Tree-Nut Free and Gluten free

1/2 C Water
1/2 C Fresh Orange Juice 
2/3 C Vanilla protein (Arbonne) 
1/2 C Crushed Ice

Add ice...or NOT... mix in your blender or shaker cup! And you're ready to go!

Dairy-Free, Egg-Free, Nut-Free Delicious Donuts!

Made about four dozen of these dairy-free, egg-free, totally peanut-free, tree-nut free (does CONTAIN COCONUT) donuts in the past few days, and they were a HUGE HIT!  I have made some changes from the original recipe, Heart-Shaped Donuts from Chockababy.  

Having kids who ALSO had NEVER had donuts,  these have become a staple in our home over the past few years.
