About

Daniella Knell is a public speaker, allergy educator, community advocate and mom of two children managing food, animal, medicinal and seasonal allergies.  Her allergy advocacy has included providing adult and children's allergy awareness classes, national telephone workshops, product videos and one-on-one consulting.  She has spoken at local FARE media events, and was honored in 2015 to be a lead speaker at the 2nd Annual FAACT Teen Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Her passion is in the classroom and her goal is to 'alleviate food allergy fears one classroom at a time' through a positive, uplifting and partnering approach.

Her personal exposure to allergies involved her yearly childhood run-ins with poison ivy.

With this limited exposure, she was little prepared for the life changing events which began in 2003.  "Little did I know the impact dairy-based yogurt could have when smeared all over a tiny, innocent face.  Hives were everywhere."  Since that time, allergies including soy, eggs, fish, shellfish, avocado, kiwi and bananas, have floated in and out of her food allergy world.  The scariest and most difficult challenges have been helping a child to manage the fear of anaphylaxis to peanuts and tree nuts.

From that moment forward, her dedicated passion has been to take the fear out of managing food allergies through increased education and a motivational attitude.

HER COMMUNITY and NATIONAL INVOLVEMENT

Since 2007, she have been presenting Kids Education ClassesAdult Education Classes and offering  One-on-one Consulting.  Whether at local schools, events or at national conferences, she loves publicly inspiring others to live positively with food allergies.

Seeing the need for simply stated labels to attach to products in our pantries and on snack boxes at school, she designed and trademarked her OWN S.A.F.E. Food Allergy Labels.  They have been mentioned and promoted on Allergic Living - Amazing Life Hacks for Allergies .

She has been a SunButter Ambassador and Blogger since 2013 and HOPES you find her positive attitude contagious~

  1. Great site Daniella. I can't believe I didn't see it when I first learned about my children's allergies. Better late than never right? What's good about allergies is that it is a learning process so we always need the help. Thanks for finding me.

  4. So what exactly is an allergy educator? Do you have a certificate in it? What is your background? Just curious

    1. Thanks for asking! No, I don't have a certificate but have over 13 years of personal experience living with kids who manage 6 of the top 8 allergens as well as few extras thrown in. For the past 10 years I have gone into schools and offered educational classes to preschoolers all the way up through 7th graders. I utilize educational materials available via FAACT, FARE and KFA. My passion is creating a supportive group of classmates for our kids. They may ONLY have a teacher for one year and have their classmates for 13. My children have been fortunate to NOT experience much of the bullying and astrocizing that many others have had due to my pro-active and inclusive approach with school and educators.

    2. I am proud to also add that I have presented for years at our local hospital to new moms, and been featured in our local newspaper, in national radio programs and have presented via classroom and on-line venues. I am very honored to have been asked to speak at the national FAACT Teen conference in the fall of 2015.
