Pillsbury Pie Crust - What a great EF, NF, DF Option for the holidays~

Just finished all of my allergy-friendly Thanksgiving shopping, and I made sure I picked up several, ready made pie crusts.

It's easy enough to make your own, I know, but with all of the baking and cooking we do around here during the holidays, I sure love having an easy product available to help me along the way.

What's even better is that this pie crust is egg-free, totally nut-free and dairy-free - meeting many of our needs.

Pillsbury Pie Crusts, distributed by General Mills Sales, Inc., Minneapolis, MN.

Ingredients include:  ENRICHED FLOUR BLEACHED (WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, FERROUS SULFATE, THIAMIN MONONITRATE, RIBOFLAVIN, FOLIC ACID), PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED LARD WITH BHA AND BHT TO PROTECT FLAVOR, WHEAT STARCH, WATER.  CONTAINS 2% OR LESS OF: SALT, RICE FLOUR, XANTHAN GUM, POTASSIUM SORBATE AND SODIUM PROPIONATE (PRESERVATIVES), CITRIC ACID, YELLOW 5, RED 40.

  1. I used Pillsbury Pie Crusts until I noticed the BHA and BHT preservatives in the Lard, along with the Yellow and Red Dyes. Making mine by scratch now to be safe.

  2. I went specifically to buy this crust at Walmart and than I read it does have hydrogenated lard so it is not good to use.
