Snapea Crisps - What a Delicious Snack Option!

For years, my family has enjoyed this allergy~friendly snack option.  We have to hide the bags from my husband because he will devour one on his own!

It's not one of the easiest items to find and I can't tell you how thrilled I was to find it at our local COOP on one of my last visits.  Needless to say, my family was even happier!!

Snapea Crisps Original Flavor, manufactured by Calbee America, Inc., Fairfield, CA.

Ingredients includeGREEN PEAS, CORN OIL, RICE, SALT, CALCIUM CARBONATE, ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C).

It also states on the packaging ALLERGEN INFORMATION:  MADE IN A FACILITY THAT ALSO MANUFACTURES PRODUCTS CONTAINING WHEAT, MILK, SOY, SHRIMP AND FISH.

For more information, contact:  http://www.calbeeamerica.com/ or 707-427-2500 or http://snacksalad.com/

You can even find some recipes, a kids corner,  and a Q &A Section.  Find out more at their Snapea Club/Farm to Table link: http://farmtt.com/snapea-club/

I know that the 'made in a facility that also manufactures...' will be of concern for some.  I will follow up and see what the Calbee company will tell me about their manufacturing/cleaning practices.  I can say that we have eaten this product for YEARS, even with our milk allergies.  With all of the increased allergy awareness in our communities, I know that many companies place this statement on their packaging for the 'just in case' scenario.  I will keep you posted on what I find out.

Their website has an incredible amount of information about their products, a timeline regarding their history from the 1970s, video tours and their philosophy around the 'Environment Project'. Want to buy from a company that is community and planet oriented?  How about one that offers workshops on nutrition education for children in Japan?

As many of you can see, there are a lot of good reasons, besides the great taste of this product, to buy from Calbee.

Arigatou gozaimasu to SnackSalad Marketing and Technologies.  We love this product!

  1. I love this product, too, and have eaten it with no apparent difficulties in spite of my celiac disease. However, I have been concerned about the "manufactured in...." statement and will be looking forward to what you find out.
