A spring day brought out our springtime meals!

"How do you survive eating without nuts, cheese or eggs?"  "Peanuts... your kids can't eat peanut butter?"  "I can't imagine trying to plan meals with such limitations. I could never do it".
Any of those comments sound familiar to all of you allergy families?  I remember the days of being sooo stressed out, and wondering how WOULD I figure out how to get enough nourishment in my kids because of all of our their limitations.  As a person who had NO food allergies growing up, I even recall a bout of crying here and there.

Our allergy~friendly lunch

As we sat down at the cafe table on our front porch enjoying our first REAL and much anticipated spring down, we also enjoyed our first lunch.  I truly had to laugh when I looked at WHAT it is we survive on here without milk, eggs, nuts and fish!

This is for those of you who can't picture surviving mealtime with multiple food allergies.  Ants on a stick (celery, soy butter, raisins and craisins), freshly cut Fuji apples, slices of jicama (our new love) and Keebler crackers.  Mmmmmm!

Barely a crumb left afterwards which we shared with the local robins.

The cookies came later!!
